puts up tomato shield?

Hello!

I am terrible at intos', but since I can't just send in my card on a silver salver, I'll try my best. My site-name rather says it all - open.

I don't believe 'spinning in the void' is an accepted spiritual path yet , but there I am. I guess the most accurate I could get would be to say I'm a Fortean (hence -open ).

I look forward to reading and learning but I am still getting used to all the buttons , levers and pulleys so please forgive me if I mess up.

Did I leave anything out?

A very warm welcome to Interfaith Forums, open.

Yes, it truly is interfaith if they allow me here. I am all too often the fly in the ointment, but matters of the meaning and value of human life are important to me, and faith approaches to those questions usually point out so many excellent avenues in which to look, that sites where a secular humanist like myself would be more welcome often seem sterile by comparison.

I very much hope that we shall share some interesting conversation, as always enriched by the many other voices around us on the forums.

Again, welcome. (And trust me, the controls are pretty intuitive. Just try them all as you enter some text. Just don't mind if you lose a little of what you've type the first couple of tries.)

Allen

Welcome, Open!

I'm not so much a 'fly in the ointment' as a slightly inebriated dragon playing with a chemistry set labelled in Esperanto, Sanskrit and Old Norse... We do get into the occasional knock-down-drag-out debate here, but we're generally still civil to one another at the end of the day.

Thank you so much for your warm welcome! I had just about given up on ANY forums that dealt with spirituality (for reasons I'm sure many here can also innumerate) but on reading around here, I see a truly tolerant and 'interfaith' ( a term often degraded ) forum to explore and discover.

Also, the level of plain courtesy is wondrous to behold! I'm afraid my mother had delusions of being Queen Victoria's sister and cursed me with it or something so having courtesy met with suspicion or taken as condescension or passive-aggressiveness always floors me. But here - not so!

Since this subject area has always been of intense interest to me and I'm open to learn all it's various permutations, this place is a find indeed.

Thanks again!

Welcome. The wonderful thing (for me) about this site is the fact that it's huge. There's enough room for all of us to play here, regardless of our beliefs. It's easy to find your own comfortable corner here with other like-minded people, but the rest of the community is (usually) very respectful when you venture into the larger forums for open discussion. We have everything from soup to nuts here, so enjoy.

Octavius
