Wicca New Church

I had to post a new thread in here, since it looked like this thread hasn't been touched in forever.

I recently (on easter) did my third sunday in a row at a UPCI church. I'm thrilled about it, and feel I finally found a church that can foster my born-again Christianity.

It's a smaller church (less than 200) but that's ok, as it seems to be relatively tight-knit and very friendly.

I'm debating on getting re-baptized, as I was baptized by sprinkling when I was a baby and I don't believe it to be valid anymore. Also being re-baptized would be cool, it would symbolize my new christianity and new life in Him.

Looking forward to next sunday.

I have issue with baptising babies. It isn't their choice so I have a hard time seeing it as valid. I know that a lot of faiths do this, and consider it valid. If I were in your shoes, I would go for the baptism, since you are now able to make that choice.

Yes, though I feel a bit fussy and want the whole sha-bang. My church doesn't have an actual baptismal font. They use a 3ft tall by 4-5 feet long metal bucket type thingy. They have what appear to be old graduation robes for it too, though I'd prefer to wear my own baptismal clothing.

I'm glad you found a good church where you can click and fit in. UPCI is a good denomination, even though they are "Jesus Only" and don't fit the mainstream Christianity definition. I was baptized in a UPCI church in 1995. It really changed things for me.

I don't believe in nor will I baptize babies. Baptism in Christianity is for the remission (forgiveness) of sins. It's hard for a baby to make that decision. I agree with the moderator. But Good Luck with your new church.

I was baptized in water in July this year, it was a very freeing experience for me, like being washed clean of the last 10 years of baggage. I'd thoroughly recommenced it for those who are born again.

Praise God.
