Quote:
that means if Bush wants anything done he'll have to work with the democrats to get it done, and most democrats (as many republicans) don't like the path that Bush is taking the US. This can also mean that he will truely be a lame duck president, especially if the democratically led congress blocks alot of what he wants to do.

It means that the democrats are either going to show their true colors, in which case they will lose the next election by a landslide (if people open their eyes and don't just believe the liberal press), or that the democrats will FINALLY be forced to work with the president instead of fighting him at every turn, regardless of what Bush says or does. I don't think they intended it, but the dems are now very much under the spotlight.
I think that it is interesting that in every key place that a dem defeated a rep, it has because the dem has mirrored the conservative rep values and beliefs. The question will be if the dems can move back away from the extreme left, propounded by Kerry and Howard Dean. If not, this will be a very quickly passing fad. People have forgotten of the problems the dems got them into in the first place, that led to the landslide overturn of their control, after 40 years. |
