More troops
For many months now, many in the democratic leadership have been saying that we don't have enough troops on the ground in Iraq to get the job done. We know that the Iraqis want us there, but the question has been, do they want us there because they want us to fight FOR them and do things they aren't willing to or can't do, or do they want us there to help secure the country and to train them how to do it themselves?
Tomorrow, it is widely believed that when the President makes his speech, he will be acceding to the wishes of those many democrats, and will be announcing that we are sending more troops to Iraq, at least on a temporary basis. This is angering many Republicans, since it is a democrat idea and not a republican one (again, partisan politics). Do you think that he should have caved in, or do you think that he should have continued gradually drawing down the troops, as dictated by the commanders who are actually on the ground there?
