Are you sure that US is moving on the right track?

It is true that West is far ahead of us in science and technology and claims to be the most civilized society in the world but still they have the senselessness and ignorance?

Recently a disease by the name "e.coli" spreaded in USA causing many people to get admitted into hospitals and do u know how this disease has spreaded?
The farmers were encouraged to feed their cows and goats with meat(going against their natural diet) and which caused these animals to have this disease.
When the meat of these cows and goats were supplied in the market, offcourse the consumers of these meat will definitely acquire this disease and many people have become ill.
Don't u think that still the Western Society instead of being ahead in Science and Technology is still ignorant and senseless?
How can a herbivorus animal consume meat and don't they know that they are going against the natural diet of that animal?
If we human beings instead of consuming meat or vegetables ,start eating mud, sand and stones dont u think it will damage our digestive system and cause diseases?

I hope it didnot hurt?

The latest ecoli outbreaks were from vegetables, not meat. You need to check your facts before you make accusations.

The United States has been on a downward slide ever since the introduction of--and largely due to--two things:

1. Free agency in professional sports
2. The Infield Fly rule in baseball

All of our problems stem from those two events.

Hi LK,

I'll soon figure out the facts but this is what I have got. I didnot mean to hurt your or anyone elses feelings. You guys might be thinking that I blindly love to criticise West which is not right. I am not criticising but we have to understand that we should not misuse our Modern Science and Technology in such a way that it causes threat to our life.

I appreciate the broadmindedness of Westerns and not only me but their are great knowledgable Muslim Scholars who appreciate it as well.

I hope it helps,

One of the greatest thing that I like about West is that they have allowed open discussions on different religions which is not allowed in many other countries.

=== Don't u think that still the Western Society instead of being ahead in Science and Technology is still ignorant and senseless?===

All countries are ignorant and senseless in the 'whole picture' ,yet some want freedom for all in a collective loving world society which still maintains individual cultures yet provides a world wide freedom to travel and share anywhere on Earth without threat of war or horror and that is what the great USA wants and this is good .

We all make mistakes and many great life saving inventions were made in a process of mistakes and error and this is how the world is today but in reality the USA in the whole of the country do not want to hurt cows , people etc and when mistakes are made , that is life and should not be taken out of context when the goal of the USA is happiness and freedom for all here on this Great Planet Earth .

One could say the same thing about religion, no?

Moreover, Escherichia coli isn't a disease but a bacterium living for example in intestines. Sometimes, vegetables are fed water contaminated by feces. If such veggies aren't properly rinsed, there might be intestinal problems (diarrhoea and such).

thalassa will become famous soon enough
E. coli is a pretty common naturally occuring, bacteria...the several harmful strains are pretty rare, comparatively---but when they manage to get into the food supply (whether in meat, or as in this past summer's outbreaks, in veggies) they can do quite a bit of damage... This particular outbreak was supposedly caused by contaminated irrigation from local waterways in the area of California where the spinach in question was grown.

I think (just guessing here)--in reference to the animals being fed other animals--you might be refering to the disease bovine spongiform encephalitis--a varient of Crujfelt (sp?)-Jacob's Disease cause by prions (which are an almost indistructable mutated protien)...these prions, when injested, "infect" the new organism and essentially attatch to other, similar protiens and effectively change their shape, causing them to stack upon them selves--in the end, the brain of the infected organism looks like swiss cheese...

This particular "illness" is not unique to Western agriculture...it is also common among some groups that practice cannibalism as a funerary rite...

As far as farming practices go, I doubt cows, sheep and such *know* they were/are eating meat--its not like they were eating a rare steak or some such...generally the "leftovers" from butchering and processing meat were/are ground up as a protien additive for livestock feed (a practice which, while highly economical, has been abandoned by some--but not all, which is why I advocate responsible consumerism) livestock operations...

This isn't necessairly anymore or less senseless than the some of the practices of some non Western cultures...
