We've had a rough day of it, and I'd like to request prayers for Kate and all of us who love her. I had to take her to a mental health facility this afternoon because she was suicidal. I am relieved that tonight she is safe and grateful that my neighbor, a clinical psychologist, was home at the time I needed her help.

If you could throw a positive prayer for emotional healing our way, I'd be most grateful. Thank you all!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. My father had a severe depression in his 20's and I've had several bouts of depression as well, and know how hard it is to get out of without help. It's also difficult to ask for help sometimes, because unlike a physical illness, you feel you should be stronger or able to get out of it on your own. Like you said Rev. Kelly, there's no instant fix, but I'm hoping she will be able to find that wonderful, beautiful part of her again soon.

I am so sorry to hear that Angeleyes. My thoughts are with you and your daughter. How old is she?

Kate is 22 - a very transitional time, to say the least. She's had several attempts at college and a couple of different jobs. She feels as though she's been a dissappointment and that there's no path out there for her. Many of her friends look like they're doing much better. But she's doing what we all tend to do, compare her insides with their outsides. She probably also had a notion she'd had life totally under control by now. It's not easy growing up.
