Begging for prayers - 2nd August 2008, 07:57 PM

I beg for your prayers.

I am making a major change in my life. In a couple of weeks time, I may be leaving home to become a monk.

I have become slowly convinced that this is the right choice for me to make.

However, there is one last obstacle to overcome before I can commit myself fully to this: I have been going out with a girl for two years. Obviously I have to leave her behind.

I want our relationship to end peacefully... and I want her to be happy once I've gone.

*holds out begging bowl* prayers please.

I will pray that your transition goes smoothly and you are successful in what your personal and spiritual goals are. I wish you the best.

This is getting harder and harder very quickly... I now plan to leave tomorrow, slipping away in the early hours of the morning.

I probably won't be able to read any more replies to this, at least for a while. So thank you all.

Wow! That's a pretty big decision. You do realize you're going to break her heart don't you? God is all about love and I don't see any reason why he would want you to leave her. I'm not saying to sin and choose her over God. I'm just saying that maybe you should try to find a way to serve God while loving her. Think what that could do to her spiritually. She could deny God because she may think that God is the reason she is heartbroken. I'm not trying to be disrespectful of your decision. I'm just trying to see if you made this decision by considering her feelings and your love for her. I hope things work out for you.
