How Many Angels Can Dance on the Head of a Pin? - 28th June 2009, 11:02 PM

The most important question here is: What kind of dance? If it's the Tango I say none. Angels don't do the tango; they're far too pious. If it's that swaying, hands raised skyward, happy-clappy, churchianity dance all the evangelical kids are doing now days, it's at least ten, at most a bajillion.

Discuss.

It depends on whether you answer the question before or after you snuck into the sacristy and drank the communion wine.

Actually in Quantum Physics ant new mathematics, some think entire universes could be smaller than an angstrom unit or 0.1 nanometres. How many angstrom units can dance on the head of a pin?

I'm gong to take a guess and say a pin head is approximately .1 mm (50 um) in diameter.

3.14 x (50 um)^2 = 780 sq um

780 sq um x (10000^2 sq A/sq um) ~ 7.8 x 10^9 sq angstroms/pinhead

Low ball estimate only one angel per square angstrom. Let's at least give them a little elbow room. That means around 7.8 billion angles per pinhead.

I would say infinity. Angels could be smaller than quarks. We just assume they are human size. They would probably dance to a kind of music we have never heard.

Hasn't anyone heard why fundamentalist Protestants are so horribly uneasy about sex?

It leads to dancing!

Angels wouldn't, I'm sure.

Weird question mate, I love clapping and raising my hands to the Lord if I have a desire, but I think the angels will probably laugh at you, do you not know how big they are! You would be considered a mini mini mini me midget!

I do not know how big they are. How big are they, Hawk, and please cite your source for such information.

Just imagine this,

Revelation 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

Revelation 10:1 I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire;

I assume they have different sizes, so some could be very big like the ones in revelation and some probably as small as we are, we do not know how it works in the spirit world, but dancing on the head of needle sounds ridiculous, it could be demons though.
