Questioning God

Why would someone question someone else's god and not their own?

" Why would someone question someone else's god and not their own? "
-------

It may be the parents who follow a Religion that states as Chritianity does that " accept Jesus as the Son of God" to get to the Kingdom of Heaven .

So when a child grows up they feel that any other Religion is wrong and question it as they are true believers in their Religion .

There will always be people who hurt others usually through ignorance .

Oh and that is another good question which allows me to feel "calm" as l think of it , whatever lol .

"Why would someone question someone else's god and not their own?"

Also , because in Faith anything can change for you depending how much you know yourself and if you can see yourself as others do we can get to know ourselves which makes us on the path to finding God , and when you do see yourself as you are and not as you want to see you , you are in an honest format which is what God wants of you .

I think it has to do with mindset. We find it easier to see someone else's flaws or the flaws of their beliefs than we do in our own. It could be the fact that we are searching for answers our selves, so seeing where other people stand will help us to understand ourselves better. Just guessing here.

There is only One God, One Existance, so when one questions anothers God, they are also questioning their own.

Question deities are like people.

This may sound a little strange. My spirituality is built, in part, upon questioning all authority. This is particularly true for deities. Every deity I have encountered, be it Jehovah, Jesus, Allah, Zeus, Gwyddyon, Odin, Sheave, Krishna (the list goes on) . . . have all seemed at some point to have their own agenda. Meaning, that they reflect the agendas of people and organizations who have manipulated a deities image to their will. Leaving you with a buss full of Jesus's in Milwalkee, a boat full of odins in Iceland, and parade of shivas in Bengali! My point being, if a deity isn't reflective of the kind of person I would want to associate myself with and call a friend, who I would invite over for dinner and name the godfather or godmother of my firstborn . . . well I just don't want much to do with them.

Yeah, I don't think this post much sense and my point has gotten lost in a travesty of a well intended metaphor. Ah well . . . . I tried.

Your point was not so much lost as hidden.

Don't like the god you've got? Do what humans have done since the beginning: make a new one that suits you better.

It may be because that individual was taught that their God could not be reached for comment.

Life would be so much more pleasant if we would stop confusing with what we have said about a God we perceive and who that individual really is. Most of our criticisms are really targeted at others' misperceptions about the God rather than at that Being himself.
