Does God have a gender?

I do not think that Diety has a gender. I use a host of Gods and Goddesses to put a "face" on Diety, to make it easier to relate, to pray to the proper aspect. But as a whole, there is no gender to define Diety.

Well, it is interesting that God has been "male" for quite some time now. Didn't alot of the ancient cultures have both male and female dieties?

I don't think of God as a being anymore, but more like a creative energy or force that permeates everything. That being said, we could probably use a little more of the feminine "side" these days. My humble opinion......

The way you said that is interesting to me .

Could anything permeate God and if so would that mean that our world as we see and live it with all our different beliefs are accurate in our own world realms but there is perhaps 'something else' in this energy concept of God , sort of , and this 'other' is still unknown to Earth life yet it is penetrating life here on Earth and our own God or energy is aware that this 'intruder' is here but because of this other 'energy' and it's domination of Human behaviour our God can only let it manifest and hope that it doesn't find anymore ways to manifest it's own energy using our own God or energy .

Does Light, have gender ?

Does vibration have gender ?

Does Love have gender ?

Those questions to me are the same as asking if God has gender, as God is Light, Vibration & Love.

You are right, many of the ancient religions had both male and female dieties. Some had just female and some had just male. Today there are religions that have both also. Wicca, Druidism, etc. all celebrate the female aspects of Diety.

Monotheists, especially christians, call god a he because it mentions him as a he in their bible. Man was created in god's image, and the first human was male, after all.

If there is a god i'm pretty sure he'd be asexual :P

well... from a literal/syntax reading... God would be male... or at least imagewise.


so the statement is saying God created man[male] to look like God. but then again, appearance doesnt always equal gender.... so nevermind
