What does enlightenment mean to you?

Enlightenment...that is a tough one. I think it is...being one with yourself, your surroundings, and your God/dess. Maybe...I might have to ammend this as time goes on...

I formulated my definition:
I see three major aspects to the self: 1. little self, 3d self, body + ego 2. higher self, deeper self, the conduit between little and true selves 3. true self, soul, true will, deepest self. Enlightenment is a spectrum with many stages of development, akin to intelligence and beauty. Like intelligence and beauty, enlightenment is difficult to define which is not to say that enlightenment is "in the eye of the beholder" as beauty is, unless that beholder is the essence of Divinity. A first stage of enlightenment is realizing that the little self is not all there is to the self. Next is connecting to the higher self for discovery of the nature of the true self; realization of what one's true self is. Further is doing what is in alignment with one's true self, in essence, being one's true self. Doing includes thinking, perceiving, being, and acting.

Enlghtenment is knowledge that enhances (or shines brighter) than the understanding you previously had.

Enlightement is living fully in the current moment and seeing things as they are... Not colouring the world with our minds, so to speak.

Enlightenment to me;
It is being aware of my God, knowing that He is there without seing Him. Being able to feel His love and peace when you meditate to him in the midst of terrilble trouble in your life. This is enlightment to me. Being able to honestly show Gods love to your fellow man and not be angry because they will not see your way of belife as right. Being able to be happy even when those around you do not like you. Only knowing God can make us feel pure and perfect love. Really knowing God, not just saying you know God, having His spirit inside you and showing it to the world is enlightenment.

Realization
To me enlightenment means to realize fully: I am spirit and spirit is perfect.
