I think the difference is: one is anothers interpretation and one is our own interpretation.
I used to go to church. In church they would read out of the Bible and then say: What Jesus (or so and so) meant was : ..........I stopped going to Church when I noticed that my interpretation of the bible was different from the churches interpretation. I don't believe one is wrong and one is right, but I do feel we have to be truthful to ourselves and the actions we take must reflect what we believe. With other words, I feel it would go against what I believe, if I went to church, knowing that their interpretation does not reflect my understanding. What reason, other than fear do I have to go? I found this quote by Albert Einstein: "Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts." Too often we take someone elses knowing and make it our own. True knowing is based on experience. Knowing without experience is knowledge, knowledge has no value unless applied, then it becomes knowing.
