Dear Shofar,
Matt 5:48 reads: Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. I think that there is a big difference between the words to be or to become: it's like saying I am or I will be. As long as we think we still need to do something in order to be, we are not. Alone the thought that we are not, and already, makes our experience a less than perfect one.
