Seeking

Quote:
Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.
Rumi, Sufi Poet and Mystic.

Do you agree? Is there anything else we need to seek?

I think that seeking is a part of life. We seek love, understanding, knowledge, relationships, etc. It is part of what we are, and we should embrace that part of us that is always seeking.

In the whole picture of those words , while in the process of getting to know yourself you are , by seeking out your own truths , you in the final realisation of your goal which is finding the whole realm of love including seeking it, you are actually seeking for love .

Rumi is right...in as far as he goes.

Quote:
We must not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time

First we find the limits, the "no go" areas in ourselves, then we search out the boundaries and possibilites of the World, seen and unseen.

Many lose themselves in one search, or the other, finding a harbour, and thinkining they have arrived....but Eliott is right.

Sometimes a person can go for some years thinkin' that they have arrived at a harbor where they are content. Then something washes over into their lives where they need to go out searchin' again for the thing the contentment they had only thought they had found before. When it had only all been an Illusion you had wanted so bad.

Many people want the illusion, because searching can be scary. And other have trouble telling the counterfeit from the real thing.

The Illusion is so good to be in when you've been out in the middle of the vastness of life without any real kinda protection. The Illusion is such a joy to find and to feel, whatever counterfeit or short time you may have with it. Somtimes when its all washed away, you wish the perfect picture you had of it had not been blown away from you in such an instant. It is defeating to have to go back to the search when you haven't finished totally with the Illusion.

I agree with everyone on the seeking think there is a time in life where we must learn to seek different area's of life out like i am doing now! Not even sure what i am looking for but time to start somewhere..
