How do we evaluate what we perceive and how do we determine what qualities something must have for us to bestow upon it the title of 'truth'?

In order for us to label something as 'truth' I believe we have to have experienced it or seen it close up. It doesn't matter whether other people who experience exactly the same event give different accounts because everything that I experience/witness is filtered through my own preconceptions.

Preconceptions of truth.

I fully agree, "fromtheheart". Man confuses opinion with truth far too often.

How is man to know the truth? How is man to know of which he speaks of as truth?

Man who claims his opinion as truth is man who possesses great arrogance.

There are two truths; One is Universal Truth (the earth rotates around the sun) and a Personal Truth (I am 6 foot 1 inches).
