Cavemen would imply the existance of evolution. As Mr. Hippy says, the world isn't old enough to have had cavemen.

There existence is implied

Genesis 4:22, if Tubal Cain was the "instructor of every worker in bronze and iron" then, prior to his time (seventh generation from Cain), everyone must have used stone tools....therefore they were what we call "cavemen."

That's if you are one who insists that the Bible is the only truth. (Actually, I'm always amazed how many Biblical Fundamentalists can't figure out the fairly evident meaning of Biblical passages.)

Judaism

Since the earlier chapters in Genesis probably are allegory, there would be no ability to write about something they would have no way of possibly knowing.
