It is curious how we argue over what we cannot know as we are and avoid what we can. If a human being is a microcosm and as such, a mini universe, we could discover the knowable of both our inner life and external life through efforts to "know thyself." We avoid it like the plague in favor of justifying our ignorance by imagining ourselves. |

I think that it's infinite and eternal in the sense that time and distance only 'exist' in our perception, but that it "caused" itself.
I must admit - i prefer the word 'cosmos', because 'universe' seems to imply what can be seen via a telescope (optical or radio). Peace, Love, & Light

If the Universe is Infinite and Eternal...
...then there really isn't any need for linear time.
Gods may go to the express line. Mortals must "wait". (:raig |

I don't believe the universe is infinite and eternal. The universe appears in the light of consciousness, no consciousness...no universe, what is left is infinit and eternal, beyond light and darkness, good and bad, conscious and unconscious.

As a point of clarification, where would the consciousness come from prior to the evolution of sentient beings? Are you referring to a divine consciousness? Shalom, Vern |

Metis, I don't believe that the divine/supreem/God is conscious nor unconscious. To me God is pure being. To me consciousness is awareness, but in the absense of thought are we aware of anything? ....Yet we will always be. In the absense of everything (concepts and beliefs) we are all.
