I think in order to answer this question we need to look deep within ourselves. When we get to the core of our self, we will find Jesus.

Cardero asks some good questions... In my Faith we believe Jesus was a Manifestation of God so the similarities we see between say Jesus and the Buddha or other great spiritual figures is that They were all Manifestations of God.
To be truly appreciated though I like to suggest that Jesus should be seen in the historical and social context of His time... - Art ![]()

The Christ Spirit which manifested God's unconditional love through Jesus the person, is the same Loving manifestation that has brought God's Love to all civilizations and societies, when they are ready to receive it, through a "Way-shower" born among them, speaking their language and in a manner appropriate for those people at that time.

I think that he is the distillate derived from several - much older - religions which has been given a name and an alleged existence in order to present the people of the time with a man who had lived and died within living memory - something much easier to believe in and relate to than a long-absent god or goddess.
I don't think it's important whether he actually lived at all, it is the message which he - or his templates - bore that's the important thing -- or - at least, it should be. Peace, Love, & Light
