Judaism Denominations

All the major religions have denominations (almost 300, plus thousands of independents, in Christianity), branches (3 main & several smaller ones in Judaism), rafts (two main and myriads of differing schools in Buddhism), etc.

IYO, would it be more desirable to have just one "denomination" in your religion?

Shalom,
Vern

There is only one denomination in my religion.

Me.

I prefer universalism, and accomodation within it, but there is not doubt that the historical forces working on religion tend to increased fragmentation. It's a sad thing, really, but may well reflect our own, ever increasing, alienation.

My religion is small, and so it is not really an issue.

No, the more the better. Eventually everyone will have their own, which will unite everyone instead of separating us : )

I think I'll let you and Eolas Pellor fight this one out. Fifteen rounds-- no holds barred.

Shalom to the winner,

Metis, you can't fight about preferences. That's like saying blond is sexier than brunette : )
