That sounds good, but is different from other definitions of enlightenment. Some would say true enlightenment is Self realization or actualization, a merging of the unconcious into the conscious. I tend to believe enlightenment is transcendental.
The definition of enlightenment by Josei Toda seems more like a ply yourself with goodies state instead of a letting go in order to reach higher states.

I don't know why enlightenment can't be both transcendental and of "broad wisdom, boundless energy, and good fortune wherein we each shape our own destiny, find fulfillment in daily activities, and come to understand our ultimate purpose in life".

I think that enlightenment is equivalent to attaining the Zarathushtrian ideal of Haurvatat; "The state of complete Well-being, physical and spiritual integrity. In its full form it is a state of perfection on earth."

And I tend to agree with his approach since I really don't put much faith in things "mystical", which I associate with "transcendental". He's so much more down to earth than you folks with your head stuck in the clouds.

I agree with Jesus the key is to be in this world yet not of it. To be compassionate without pity, to love without expectations and to choose life without fear: a spiritual life

And this attitude is precisely why Christianity became necessary. It allowed those that inwardly realized the unenlightened emptiness of secularism to experience an option leading to freedom from the cave Quote:
