Great question Angel! I think those that feel closer to God in nature still believe in a God outside of themselves. They see in nature that which reflects the divine and is in harmony. They label nature as "good" and the work of humans as 'bad". Therefore they can not feel (be one with God) in a room made by human hand.
If the kingdom of God is within me....why should it matter (be different) where I am physically? In "no thought"...where is nature....where is the room....the body...or anything?

I've lived in the Northwest most of my life. We are surrounded by so much beauy and I never get tired of it. I love to be in nature. All I have to do is walk out my front door and I am there. In the absolute stillness it is so easy to feel the interconnectedness of all things. I stand in the evergreens and look up at the simplicity of the purposeful intention. There are so many beautiful scents. Even in the sounds of birds and rustling leaves there is a stillness. I think it's more natural to be in nature than it is to be caged up in a building.

The beauty we perceive (and uglyness) is only our perspective. Not everyone that is in nature feels closer to God. Some are one with their thoughts all the time. The intent (and belief) of seeking oneness with God in nature will bring about the experience.....simular to the real thing. But it is only temporal....subject to change. Change the sceenery and the experience changes.
The "real" is found within. Within the awareness of your being. God is your very being. Be one with you. Observe YOU. You are "it".

I think it's important to remember that everyone has their own individual experience and that none are more or less than another or more correct than another.
There is nothing wrong with experiencing interconnectedness or the Presence in all forms. If nature makes one feel closer to God, then do it.

I feel this way when I'm outside and I think it is because I'm in my natural environment. My cat probably feels that way too because he always stares outside the window.
