Question Why Is Homosexuality A Religious Or Moral Issue?

If two consenting adults of the same sex are in love and want to consumate their love, why is this a religious issue? Putting aside any Biblical interpretations, why is this a moral issue?

People fear what they don't understand. People want to control what they feel is dangerous out of fear or intolerance. It's a moral issue because people are taught to be intolerant as children by their parents.

I do not see it as a moral issue

I'm sorry, but I have never quite believed that an omnipotent deity would really care all that much about who put which bit of ridiculous anatomy where and, supposing he did, I am relatively sure -- what with being omnipotent and all -- he could have taken care of that problem, ab initio.

.

Yes octavius has a point ,,, .

To some , watching their ten year old son holding a ten year old girl's hand in a School play about two young ten year olds finding first innocent love is cute and innocent and fun for the whole family to come and watch the play .

When you add the new Atheist application we see the same play but change the ten year old boy and ten year old girl to two ten year old boys holding hands in innocent first love and some may find it difficult to accept the play as a normal way of life's application .

I assume that Atheists want the School systems to adapt Homosexuality into it just as Heterosexuality is today and to do that we must change it all to make Homosexuality as normal as Heterosexuality .

This means that all TV and other Shows should be " Homo-sized' to allow the dynamic duo of this nexus to be . This means there will be no more meaning such as Heterosexual or Homosexual because we will all be classified as one , some might think .

But what do we all REALLY think on this and is what we really think ,, what,, what, we are really posting, is it really what we ''believe'' on Homosexuality ???

Accepting homosexuality has nothing to do with being atheist. I am not an atheist but an Interfaith minister and I consider myself a fairly spiritual person and I am also a lesbian. Sexuality is no one elses business but the two involved in the personal relationship. If it is permissable for two people two hold hands in public it shouldn't matter what sexual orientation the may happen to be. Any decalartion that homosexuality is a sin or immoral is not from our creator but man made conditions made out of ignorance and fear.

Hi RevKathyV .

Yes l agree that Atheism and sexual preference are not related .

Hope l did not say something like that , oops . I need to proof read what l post three times and then another twenty times and then one last one hundred times and then l re-do it right .

Ouch , yes it is not easy being me and all l want to do is have some fun till the Sun comes up on the Santa Monica Boulevard ,,, wait , no not that ,lol .

Anyway RevKathyv , it is nice chatting with you even though l do make some innocent mistakes in my wordings at times , but if it is non-adaptive then you know l didn't mean it that way because all l want to do is be nice and caring and say the right things , well l try to anyway . So please forgive me if l said something stupid .

Hey RevKathyV , me and my Four Paws are now headed down to the Great Pacific Ocean to watch the Tides and Waves come in . It is so relaxing and neat .

Here is a photo of my Four Paws ,,

from what I've seen/heard/experienced on the subject, people whose viewpoints are way off base attempt to validate it with "The Bible Says..." (even though whatever 'the Bible says' on their topics are usually completely out-of-context)

homosexuality is one of the "biggies" these days, but I've heard the same asinine rationalization for other subjects, such as racial bigotry, etc.
