Does Science Fiction influence Spirituality?

Have you ever noticed how the "best" science fiction has been "seeded" with undercurrents of spiritual advancement/awakening? Do you think it's changed the way people think about each other and in what ways?

Haven't some people claimed Star Wars principles as their religion? I think when we tap into our creativity we become more spiritual.

A lot of science fiction also taps into political theory and social issues.

Agree....

Isn't is said (somewhere) that things happen first in the spiritual realm and then the physical? That makes sense to me.

Perhaps it is a case of art reflecting life vs life reflecting art.

It might be the other way around..

Religion or spirituality influences science fiction..

Writers draw from all kinds of sources of course.

Roger Zelazny used themes from Eastern religion..

Frank Herbert drew from Islamic themes for "Dune"..

Arthur C. Clark drew from some Hindu themes and so on..
