IMHO, that's like saying you don't see any great separation between night and day. Theistic religions try to base their values on rules supposedly handed down by supernatural beings. For many theists, satisying their god takes precedence over everything else. Humanists base their values on reason. In my book that's a huge difference. Of course, theists are capable of applying reason and humanists are capable of taking things on faith but what we value in our ideals is different. |
