The End of the World
Please excuse me if I assume some hearsays and dont quote exactly from the Bible or other Religious ideas
For some reason for as long as I can remember I had the idea that the Bible said that after 2000 years - around the year 2000 Jesus would return Now just stick with me on this thread of thought What if this is because Jesus knew that it would take 2000 years for us to lay down our fears - one of these could be seen in how we worshipped God in the UK for so many centuries under a blanket of fear - namely the idea of SIN In the last few decades Religions have certainly lost there grip and with it the ideas of Gods wrath and sin have reduced in "general thinking" Now many of us would perhaps say this had led to loose morals etc etc But what if as our minds give up these ideas of God - Wrath, sin, eternal hell, it opens a window up in our minds to a Truth thats always been within us, Just hidden by the thoughts of fear we appeared to cherish for so long Perhaps the demise of Religions and namely those that use fear, is an opening and oppertunity Perhaps in that lack of fear, Love grows and flourishes ? Perhaps we dont expereince God because on some level of thinking we think we are guilty of those many ideas we have been brainwashed with for so many ages ? Who would open there arms to a Father if they believed they were in for a whipping? I would keep the door bolted hehe For instance - This idea is always touted as BAD - but there are two ways to see it The end of the World - or end of Days is only a bad thing if theres nothing better following it. What if what replaces this World we see, is far beyond anything we could ever dream of in its Love and Beauty? What if seeing the flesh burning away in some pit of fire is ok because we ALL have left our bodys and exist as "Spiritual" beings ? Its just bones and meat then isnt it ? Just seems to me we are often given a way to look at things - but its not always the only way to look at that thing or idea Not only that, its not always the most logical way to look Often its the most fearfull - which in some ways is insane |

Well From my reading I know that there was a fairly widespread movement of Christians that believed Christ was returning around 1844. They were called Millerites.. Of course they figured Jesus would descend from the clouds so some of them waited on mountain tops hoping to be the first to see Him...
Baha'is believe Jesus Returned in 1844... that is that the propehcy of His Return was fulfilled in the Declaration of the Bab on May 23, 1844 in Shiraz, Iran (then Persia). We always have fascinating discussions with Adventists (who sprang from the Millerite Movement) about this.. About the world going through transitions and so on.. Yep the world has been in a state of unprecedented change and tumult we believe for the past hundred and sixty years or so.. Science has advanced at an unprecedented pace.. Population of the world has increased dramatically.. wars and so on.. but I would suggest we are also shrinking as a planet and more interdependent than ever before.. The internet... Financially and politically we are much more connected. It's not so much the end of the world I think as that we have entered a new age..or epoch of inter connectiveness and scientific advances. - Art ![]()

According to my understanding of the Bible the disciples believed that Jesus would return during their lifetimes. I can look up the verses if you'd like and give them to you.

I believe it's all about our inner journey. The end of times would come about when we live in the moment. Christ consciousness is found within us in the here and now. It is our choice to live in the moment or to continue to live in the past or future. Experience each moment fully if you want to experience the end of time.
