I disagree. While it is comforting to have interaction with other Satanists to some extent, it is not necessary. Instead, I would posit that it is important to have a support system of friends, spouses, and family. Being a Satanist is not necessary. My closest friends are devout Catholics, Lutherans, Athiests, Taoists, and such.
Perhaps I misunderstand the original poster's point, but we need not be Satanic Supermen. However, but we need to challenge ourselves to control our own destinies and daily lives to our best ability. This is not an easy feat, but the personal rewards are astounding. Whenever possible, the progression and assention of The Self is paramount in Satanic philosophy...not because we desire to tout ourselves above others, but because we strive to become more than we are.
