Meditation should not be something someone does part of the time. Meditation should be a constant state of being for it to work properly. When one meditates, one can get to that state of no mind, or bliss, or whatever your intention is. But when that meditation is over. You're back to where you started. You may have a better ability to deal with that starting point, but the bliss and no mind is over.

The point of meditation is to have a constant state of focus on now. A constant state of peace and oneness. The only way to accomplish this is to constantly focus on whatever it is you are doing. If you are brushing your teeth, focus only on brushing your teeth. If you are washing the dishes, focus only on washing the dishes. If you are driving, focus only on driving. Etc.......

Focusing on your breathing is ok, but your body naturally breathes, and naturally breathes in rhythm. This you cannot "make better" so what can you focus on when you meditate? Well, if you study zen your focus will be your posture and your work. I like these focal points because they are NOT what you want to be focusing on, and therefore great for your constant meditative purposes.
