Arrow creating an interfaith worship service

If you were going to create a place that welcomes all faiths and has a weekly sermon, teaching, etc, as part of the service.

What would you put into the teaching?

What structure would the service have ?

I have done this. The structure was very loose, rather than being rigid like a formalized church. It was as much a round-table as anything, where ideas were discussed...not unlike this forum. The sermons that started and ended the meetings weere about those things most universal between faiths, such as love, what we can each do to help others, what we ARE doing to help others, and why this is important.

I hosted a series of interfaith devotionals weekly for about 18 months. I assembled prayers and quotes from whatever established religions were present in the area. I picked them to show unity of purpose.

We don't do sermons though.

Scott

Ran across this and thought it was interesting...

I hold services and I give talks ie: sermons...they are inspirational talks utilizing wrintings from many spiritual paths and great thinkers. I refer to God as many different names to be all inclusive. I use nontraditional music which is uplifting...I try and making it a unifying experience as well as inspirational...
