I am God

Wow what a strange feeling it is to say that. Even "Masters/Spiritual Teachers/Gurus" don't claim that they are God.....even though some do say "You are God". Why is that? Is it because it is untrue or because of fear of Judgment or that we can't see it in ourself, but only as a reflection in others? What do you think?

Because...

...god is always the Other; he is the Other that we must, necessarily, define ourselves beside.

Some, fearing the Other, endow their gods with fearsome characteristics -- those very things they dread in others. Gods for them a judgmental, stern, wrathful, hard-to-please, intemperate.

Other embrace the Other, and their gods reflect those happier qualities that are easier to embrace. Their gods are loving, kind, merciful. understanding.

The Zoroastrians tell a wonderful story: In the beginning, Ahura Mazda was secure and happy in the Realms of Limitless Light. He completed the whole of the Spiritual Creation, giving them frre will, and powers in keeping with their stature.

In the Realms of Impenetrable Darkness, Ahriman sat, ignorant and impotent, but secure in his darkness until, looking in a direction he had never glanced before, he chanced to see, afar off, the Realms of Limitless Light. Drawing close, he was filled with fear of Ahura Mazda, with envy for his Creation, and anger at his existence.

He assailed Ahura Mazda and his Creation with all his strength, because he could not bear to share the Universe with even one other being. But Ahura Mazda knew, before hand, of Ahriman's existence, and it dod not trouble him, or prevent him from accomplishing great things.

Some say that this myth is really about the two reactions of the human mind to the problem of the Other.

The Epic of Gilgamesh can also be understood as an extended meditation on the place of the Other in our lives. At the beginning of the tale, Gligamesh is a tyrant, and the people of Uruk pray to the gods for deliverance from him.

Then Enkidu, the wild man, is sent by Annu. He is very much the opposite of Gilgamesh, free, fierce and possessed of the innate sense to protect those close to him. When Gligamesh attemtps to sleep with a bride on her wedding night, Enkidu opposes him. They fight and become friends.

But still Gilgamesh, the civilized but tyrannical man, who accepts no limits to his desires, wants to do wrong. Enkidu cautions him, argues against him, but accompanies him when Gilgamesh cannot be dissuaded.

Slowly, Gilgamesh learns to embrace Enkidu, to rely on his Other. And between them, there is nothing that they cannot accomplish, so much so, that the gods decide that Enkidu must die.

The great is Gilgamesh's despair. To lose the Other is to Die, a more profound and real Death than physical death.

It all depends on what you define "God" to mean.
The Tenach has been translated into the OT of the christian bible and the word G-d actually has over ten different Hebrew words which have very different meanings for God, but in English it is rendered just as God or The Lord, or The Lord God.
Since the monotheistic model says there is only one "GOD" then the translaters figured to simplify all the shades of meaning and render it all as God.
IMO "GOD" is a composite being made up of every being that is.
So you can never be "THE GOD", but you can realize that you are a part of "GOD" and thus say that you are God.
But it is apparent that we are but babies in the God game who can not yet clean our own bottoms.
So to say "I am God" is cute, like a baby saying "I'm the boss around here".
Gotta back your words with action.
So if you say "I am God" you must behave like God, talk like God, think like God.
Good luck with that.

Saying "I am God" is simply acknowledging our "Oneness" in God. We are co-creators with The Creator. There has never been or ever will be any separation from our Creator. To reawaken our awareness of that fact, our repeated incarnations guide us toward the knowledge and practice of manifesting unconditional love from God through us.

We are all god, it's just that we have forgotten it, being temporarily attracted to the baubles and bangles of this physical existence.

But we will remember.

Love to All.

Tonyamendola has a spectacular aura aboutTonyamendola has a spectacular aura about

I just posted this in another thread but it seems to be the same answer

so.....

LESSON 326.

I am forever an Effect of God.

W-326.1. <Father, I was created in Your Mind, a holy Thought that never left its home. 2 I am forever Your Effect, and You forever and forever are my Cause. 3 As You created me I have remained. 4 Where You established me I still abide. 5 And all Your attributes abide in me, because it is Your Will to have a Son so like his Cause that Cause and Its Effect are indistinguishable. 6 Let me know that I am an Effect of God, and so I have the power to create like You. 7 And as it is in Heaven, so on earth. 8 Your plan I follow here, and at the end I know that You will gather Your effects into the tranquil Heaven of Your Love, where earth will vanish, and all separate thoughts unite in glory as the Son of God.>

W-326.2. Let us today behold earth disappear, at first transformed, and then, forgiven, fade entirely into God's holy Will.

There is a difference being God and being a God. One is the creator and the other is an honor bestowed by a human being.
