I-Ching
I-Ching: The Book of Changes
Ancient Taoist Wisdom, and System of Divination Consulting the I-Ching must be done carefully, and patiently. For the Tao works on it's own terms, as does the coin. Here I will give a basic outline of how to consult the I-Ching. First, take a coin (any coin will do, but should have some value to you or the person your are consulting for) and take it into either your left hand, or allow your client to hold it in their left hand. Rub it around and make it personal for a minute or so while asking the question(s). Then proceed to flip the coin 6 times. I like to flip the coin 18 times; 6 times for Tao, 6 times for Shen, and 6 times for Chi. This gives me a readout of what Tao is doing, what the spirit is doing, and what Chi is doing. But that is just me, you can do just 6. Traditionally, if the coin lands on heads you draw an unbroken line. And if it lands on tails you draw a broken line. Drawing 6 of these unbroken or broken lines creates 2 "trigrams" which depending on how they are drawn represent something in nature. When you draw the 2 trigrams, one will be on top of the other, and the relationship between those 2 trigrams, and what they symbolize, allows you to make a reading. *Note, begin with the first line on the bottom. Then each line is stacked on top. *Also, traditionally 3 coins are used. But for simplicity, I have just used 1. It is up to you. For examples of the meanings of 2 Hexagrams, Click HERE!!
