Atheists who are truly humanitarians do good for goodness sake and not because religion tells them to do so, or because theyre looking to be rewarded in the afterlife.

Free-thinking can be very good, and questioning accepted wisdom has its place.

But I wonder if it is possible that, sometimes, people throw the baby out with the bathwater when they question everything.

And, quite often, I wonder if Johnny questioning the wisdom of some of the great thinkers of the past is advised, if he never understood their positions to begin with. It seems, sometimes, that people's questioning can create a ceratin arrogance, or at least an impression that the person is arrogant. (And that is not to say theists are never arrogant!)
