Cool Does Unity teach the concept of the trinity?

Does Unity teach the concept of the trinity?

I don't remember reading (or hearing discussed) anything about the "Trinity" in Unity. Does this concept have a place in the teachings of Unity.?

As with the bible, Unity takes a metaphysical approach to the concept of the trinity. The first metaphysical approach that Unity takes of the trinity is the idea of Mind, Idea, _Expression. The Mind is also what we would call God. It is the Divine Mind which is also the Universal Principle. The Idea is the original, unlimited thought of being that originates with the Divine Mind. _Expression is the out-picturing of this Idea from Divine Mind.

There is another metaphysical way of looking at the trinity that includes Spirit, Soul and Body. Man is made up of all three of these aspects. The Spirit is the I AM, or Christ consciousness, within each of us. The soul is the accumulated ideas behind the _expression in body. These would include both the conscious and unconscious ideas that we have. Of course our body is the physical _expression of our Soul.

Finally, Unity looks at the trinity as being the super-conscious, conscious, and subconscious. The super-conscious is the state of conscious that is based on True ideas. It is that place within where we can become aware of and understand the Truth of who we are. The conscious is that place where we are actively aware of our thoughts. The sub-conscious is the home of our habits. It also carries on all of our bodily functions. It is that place where we are not aware of what is happening.

Each of these metaphysical interpretations are related to one another. In other words Mind would relate to the Spirit which would relate to the super-conscious. Idea would relate to the soul which would relate to the conscious. _Expression would relate to the body which would relate to the subconsious. I have heard this referred to the "trinity of trinities" within Unity.

Personally, I have given thought to my own idea of what the trinity represents. To me, God the Father is all that is. God the Son is all of Us. God the Holy Spirit is the connection. As with all other metaphysical interpretation, I would encourage you to examine this for yourself and see what makes sense to you. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
