I've seen some impressive prophetic predictions using ancient systems like the pyramids and other things... Nostradamus and so on.

Take the quotes at the beginning of the article:

,"If Humanity Wishes To Save Itself From Biospheric Destruction It Must Return To Living in Natural Time," he foretold of our accelerated technological society, and the resulting damage of our collective divergence from Natural Law in exchange for materialist values.

Now did this ancient Mayan use the actual term "biosphere"? I think not. I think this is imposed on his language.. Also note the statement "living in natural time"...What is that for a Mayan? They had fifty two year cycles more or less based on the planet Venus, but what does "return to living in natural time" mean? You see I think that who ever developed this is also imposing their calendar system and scheme on the Mayan...so we have to weigh all this with a high degree of skepticism.

Interesting for sure.

I do place quite some deal of stock in many of the learnings of various ancient cultures. Their Temple of Sun and Moon for instance was an ingenious creation which made so many accurate predictions regarding astronomy, the circumference of Earth, etc.

There were some similar structures found in island regions off the coast of . . . France? I believe . . . certainly-spaced standing stones which laid out the size of Earth and charted astrological phenomena.

I don't doubt that some ancient cultures had some formulas very correct.

Perhaps this one (in the OP) makes reference to the end our reliance on fossil fuels to sustain ourselves? It would be the most likely thing I can see happening in the near future. Solar power, biodiesel and other "garbage" fuels being researched and slowly integrated into common use, etc.

I think something like that would not only be a major change environmentally and health-wise, but it would also create massive changes in the geopolitical and world economic arena.

Combining our learnings of such things with the increasing digust of the American people with our currnent governmental regime, I can easily see the plausibility of somebody with the mindset of a Gore or Nader on such issues being elected and pushing through regulations which could concievably end the era of petroleum reliance.

Just a thought.

Of course I suppose the possibilty of worldwide nuclear holocaust that people have been ranting about for years is a possiblity too.

Any third-world nation could become a major power and fuel prouducer with very limited and basic technology and capital outlay.

I have studied Mesoamerican cultures. I like reading about the Aztecs and incas and the conquistadors, because I love monarchies I end up liking and hating them both at the same time!

As for the prophecies, all we can do is wait and see. Though I know alot of friends who are into astrology & I have done numerology, and 12 is a very powerful number.

The 5,000-year Mayan Calendar "ends" in 2012. Our Sun is crossing the Galactic Equator right now and will align exactly with the center of our galaxy at the December Solstice in 2012. The planet Venus will transit the face of the Sun in 2012, the sister of a pair of transits initiated in 2004. The 2,000-year Age of Pisces is ending, the Aquarian Age beginning. Many believe we're at the end of an astrological Great Year, or precessional cycle, which means a new 26,000-year cycle is beginning.

These are clues about the reality shift now taking place on planet Earth, and it's connected somehow to 2012. What do you know?

2012 isn't about a specific date, it's a period of transition. And we're in it. This is a period of intense polarization as vast cycles of time come to an end and new cycles begin. We can measure these cycles through movement in the heavens - galactic alignments, the precessional cycle - and by monitoring the shifting electromagnetics of the Earth herself. We can feel the changes in our bodies. Time seems to be speeding up. Worn-out social systems are crumbling - politics, economics, religion, education, government. Even geographic boundaries are shifting. Earth changes are intensifying. These are manifestations of the unprecedented cycle of change we elected to experience when we incarnated in this lifetime.

This is death and rebirth on a galactic scale. The old is making way for the new. We live in the cross-hairs of the changes, the "between times" when we experience simulataneous and seemingly divergent realities. The "best" and the "worst" of times are playing out. Our conceptions of time and space are shifting. Like the Shaman, we're walking within and between multiple worlds. We're awakening to the quantum potential inherent in every moment since the beginning of time, learning to tap into that potential, both individually and collectively, as our consciousness expands. The possibilities are endless.

"2012" is code for this quantum shift point, the transition period between the old world and the new. Its personal, planetary and cosmic meaning is stored in the cellular memory of every living being on the planet, as well as the Earth herself. Now is the time to consciously align with this gateway, to walk consciously and manifest the highest _expression of each potential-rich moment.

We are guided by the stars through this magical time, the pre-dawn hours of the next world age.
