Children know this, but somehow adults have forgotten: Spirituality is “vertical” – on a direct line with the Infinite – but religion is horizontal – concerned with the material world. Join Rev. Bill Worth this Sunday to explore the “dimension of depth” to which Vertical Spirituality entices us.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Myrtle Fillmore – one of Unity’s co-founders – wrote in How to Let God Help You: “Thanksgiving and gratitude are qualities of the soul too little understood and exercised. Heaven and earth listen and respond to the soul that is quickened into praise and thanksgiving. Praise is gratitude in action.” Praise is one of the avenues through which spirituality expresses. The purpose of praise is to awaken in ourselves a higher realization of the omnipresence and power of God. Praise changes us, not God. Through the law of attraction we increase whatever we praise. We can praise a weak body into strength, a fearful heart into peace and trust, a failing business into prosperity and success, want and insufficiency into supply and support. In this week of Thanksgiving, start praising and giving thanks for what you want and you will set in motion the activity of Spirit, drawing to you like a magnet that which you desire. Have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving!

The Monks Are Coming!

Wednesday, Nov. 29th, 7:30 - 9:00 pm
Our beloved monks are returning for a Puja Ceremony. It is a special prayer ceremony that invokes the blessings of enlightened masters for personal, communal, and environment healing. The ceremony involves multi-phonic chants, traditional musical instruments, and offerings. Participants are asked to bring cakes, cookies, fruits and flowers, which are blessed during the ceremony and then shared afterwards.
The Tibetan wares shop will be open before and after the ceremony.

YOU Booksale Update

The YOU would like to thank our church family for all of their donations and support during our recent book sale. The sale was a great success with over $900 collected. These monies will be used toward travel expenses and other costs incurred during our Spring Rally in March 2007.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Beautiful shawls, lap blankets, children’s blankets, and prayer cloths are made by individuals who pray while they knit, crochet, or weave.
